Do It. AFI's Great American Movie Quiz with Alex Trebek.

If you're ticking off those last things to do before this summer ends and you don't have a barbecue to hit on Sunday, it might be the perfect excuse to head to the Hollywood Bowl. It's not your regular classical concert or even one of those contemporary concerts they've been having -- nope, Sunday night is The Big Picture: AFI’s Great American Movie Quiz Hosted by Alex Trebek.

How does that not sound amazing? Participate in the ultimate sort of movie trivia put on by the foremost film expert (AFI), hosted by the foremost kind of host. And the questions will be answered/performed live by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, as film clips are shown on screen. Perfect for the movie buff, or the non-movie buff (because hey, you'll learn something!), or just everyone in between looking for an inventive night out.

The Big Picture: AFI’s Great American Movie Quiz Hosted by Alex Trebek takes place this Sun., Sept. 4 at the Hollywood Bowl, located at 2301 N. Highland Ave. in Hollywood.
Tickets are still available (ranging from $16-$168) and can be bought here.

Undoubtedly, this beautiful weather is making you dream of summer already. So you might as well start preparing.

What better way to enjoy Los Angeles in the summer than a picnic, some wine and the gorgeous music at the Hollywood Bowl? And if you haven't seen the LA Phil's conductor Gustavo Dudamel at work -- this is the year to do it. He surely lives up to the hype, so don't miss out.

And don't think this means you have to stick to going to the Bowl every week of the summer or anything; there are a ton of different and flexible options. Check them out here.

Advance Notice. Hollywood Bowl concerts.

It just ain't a summer in L.A. without a concert under the stars at the Hollywood Bowl, and with this year's fantastic line-up of shows featuring contemporary indie bands like Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Grizzly Bear and She & Him along with the classic Beatles celebrations and orchestral compositions (including some led by celebrated new L.A. Phil conductor Gustavo Dudamel), there's no reason to miss out.

So get to planning your summer on the right foot and take a look at this year's schedule. Tickets for most of the shows go on sale this Sunday at 10am, but there's also a presale beginning TODAY at 10am. Passwords HB10 or BOWL10 should work; let us know about any others in the comments below.

Happy summer, and don't forget the wine and blanket!

Advance Notice. Flight of the Conchords at the Hollywood Bowl.

It was quite the bummer hearing the news last year that Flight of the Conchords had ended its illustrious run, but it seems our favorite Kiwis aren't leaving us Southern Californians completely in the dust.

Indeed, they'll be heading back to us Sunday, May 30th (perfect for the Memorial Day weekend!), playing a show at the awesome Hollywood Bowl nonetheless. A little wining and dining under the stars with Bret and Jemaine? You can't pass up this hot date.

Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10am.

Advance Notice. Paul McCartney at the Hollywood Bowl.

Seeing Paul McCartney perform in the beautiful, open air of Coachella last year was an unforgettable experience, to say in the least. Believe me, the sir can still rock it, and if you have any interest in Macca, the Beatles, or just simply music itself, seeing this man perform live is something that just needs to be done in a lifetime.

Don't miss your next chance when McCartney hits the Hollywood Bowl (a can't-miss experience in and of itself) on March 30th. The public onsale begins this Sunday at 10am, but Fan Club members and American Express users can get their tickets today at 10am. And try to control yourself.
