Click It. BEAT picks of the week.

Penélope Cruz (above) is the Harper's Bazaar May cover girl. The subscriber edition cover is particularly cool.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are off to a great start this season. Show your support for the home team with cute gear from Victoria's Secret.

Celebrate Earth Day 2012 by stopping by Sephora on Sunday with any empty cosmetic product container, and receive your choice of an Origins moisturizer--Starting Over, or A Perfect World.

If you love the baked goods from Joan's on Third as much as I do, you'll want to print Joan's Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe, published in the Los Angeles Times last Saturday.

Do It. Dodgers baseball.

Batter up! It's time for Dodgers baseball! Opening day is finally here, and as we told you earlier, the boys in blue are set to match up with longtime rivals, the San Francisco Giants, starting tomorrow night. There'll be a lot of fun promotions going on for the opening series, including a Dodgers snuggie(!). Plus, it's set to be a warm, beautiful weekend, just to match up with the excitement of a new season, so don't miss out.

Play ball! The 2011 season of Major League Baseball is kicking off here in Los Angeles in just a month (!) on March 31, with the Dodgers' opening day against those dirty rivals, the San Francisco Giants. And even if you didn't splurge for season tickets, single game tickets for all season are now available. Check out the schedule here, and start counting down the days 'til you're scarfing down Dodger Dogs and just enjoying a beautiful game at the ballpark.

Eat Out. Philippe's before the game.

The Dodger's are back in town today playing the Yankees, and if you want to beat the traffic heading into Chavez Ravine come into town early and spend a few hours before the game at Philippe's, known for their French dip sandwiches.

They have lamb, turkey, pork, ham (is there a difference between pork and ham?), and of course, the traditional beef dips.

Now that tailgating is no longer an option, other pre-game traditions need to be established. I know everyone has their before-the-game-we-go-here place and for everyone I know, that place is Philippe's. Prices here are astonishingly affordable with most plates under $5.

But be warned: vegetarian fare here is limited.

Philippe's is located at 1001 N. Alameda St.

Check It. Dodgers home opener.

The Dodgers home opener is one of the best days of the year in Los Angeles sports-wise. There's a feeling that spring has arrived, summer is coming, and there's fresh hope for a winning season for the boys in blue. All this today at 1:10 p.m. in Elysian Park.

And then there's the food. An all beef Dodger dog, a bag of Lay's potato chips, and a cold American beer is my all-time favorite ball park meal, but every year the food at Dodger stadium seems to get better. There's the classic Dodger dogs, premium drinks, and now a giant Victory Knot pretzel complete with beer cheese dipping sauce. Check out the Los Angeles Times' Daily Dish blog for more new Dodger dishes. The giant pretzel is meant to serve four, so give it a try if you're going with friends.

Play ball! And Bon Appétit!

Advance Notice. L.A. Dodgers single-game tickets.

There's been a lot of talk lately about the rising ticket prices for a ball game at Dodgers Stadium, and according to the L.A. Times, prices remain nearly the same except for:
- $2-$3 surcharge for Fridays and Saturdays
- top deck seats going from $9-$11 to $12-$15
- left field pavilion seats going from $11-$13 to $15-$18
- all-you-can-eat tickets rising to $40 on game day, but if you buy them in advance, they're $30 (which is actually $5 cheaper than they used to be)

There's also the matter that you can't see the Dodgers duke it out against the current World Series champs, the New York Yankees, unless you buy a package of at least 14 games.

Nevertheless, it ain't really summer until you dig into that Dodger Dog. Ticket prices may be higher, but that just means you'll have to pick and choose your ballpark trips more carefully. Start deciding now: single-game tickets go on sale this Saturday at 10am. Plaaaaaaaaaaay ball!
