Eat Out. BodyFactory.

I admit, I've had my fair share of Jamba Juice. But we all know there are better smoothies in town. BodyFactory is one of them. And they're open late (till 11:00 p.m. Monday - Saturday and 10:00 p.m. Sunday)! A perfect spot for after an evening workout.

They really showcase their celebrity fans (a la Millions of Milkshakes) which is a little odd - but I suppose if I made a health product that Kim Kardashian and Halle Berry consumed, I'd be telling the world too.

Their smoothies are really delicious and real-tasting. They only come in one size (24 ounce), but one smoothie can be split into two smaller cups for no additional charge.

Locations: in the ArcLight structure in Hollywood - 6366 Sunset Blvd., in the Sunset 5 structure in West Hollywood - 8000 Sunset Blvd., and another in West Hollywood at 8591 Santa Monica Blvd. Info: bodyfactory.com, (888) 263-9322 ext. 3

Eat In. Smoothies.

Or, as my roommate used to call them smoodies. I love smoothies, and this is a great way of squeezing in a few extra points in the raw fruit/veggie category without really having to eat them if you're not a big raw fruit/vegetable person.

It's also a great way to get ride of the fruit you hate to throw away, but is just a bit too .. ripe .. to eat.

The banana that's just a bit too brown? Throw it in the blender, if you don't want to go to the hassle (or calories) of making it into bread. And at Trader Joe's and other health food stores, you can grab some whole ground flax seed ground and maybe some protein powder to squeeze in some extra omega 3s and B vitamins, and protein (obviously).

I've recently been adding nuts to smoothies, which makes them thicker and also adds some extra nutrients.

Unless you have someone in the house who sleeps in later then you who might be woken up with the grinding of a blender, this is an excellent alternative to a bowl of cereal, oatmeal, or eggs in the morning. It's very filling and you can eat it on the go, if you're really in a hurry.

Eat Out. Jamba Juice's Weekday Feel Good Specials.

As the weather gets warmer, I often get a craving for a nice cold smoothie--nothing like some refreshing fruit to keep your day going and make you feel a bit healthier, right? And right now, one of my favorite go-to spots, the ever-convenient Jamba Juice, is throwing out some daily deals that are sure to make visits even more worth it.

In honor of its 20th anniversary, Jamba Juice is offering "Weekday Feel Good Specials," which include Ideal Meal Mondays, which gets you a 12oz. energizing and healthy Ideal Meal for $3, and All Fruit Fridays, when a 16oz. All Fruit smoothie can be had for only $3. Today's deal is $2 cup of oatmeal, for Wake Up Wednesday, of course. Check the website for more details.

It's also a good time to remind you that Jamba Juice now offers coffee smoothies and hot drinks like tea in addition to their famous fruit blends, and maybe this summer is the time to start testing out their "secret" menu (the "Starburst" is pretty spectacular). Mmm, smoothie.
