Check It. Chanel Morning Rose.

I like a nice classic pink pedicure in spring and summer months, and this new Chanel shade is a really good one. Their summer 2011 collection just debuted--three colors--a sheer beige (Beige Pétale), yellow (Mimosa), and a medium pink (Morning Rose, shown above).

For hands, I'm usually most comfortable and happy with a pale Essie color, but mixing things up with a brand new color of the season is fun too.

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour is available at chanel.com, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, and other department stores, $25 / bottle.

Advance Notice. Santa Monica Nordstrom opening.

People (myself included) are loving the new Santa Monica Place, and it's about to get better. Next Friday morning, August 27, a brand new Nordstrom opens at 10:00 a.m.

If you're an early bird (or a beauty junkie), check out the pre-opening Beauty Bash, which starts at 8:00 a.m. at the entrance in front of Nordstrom. There will be complimentary consultations, demonstrations, gifts with purchase, and breakfast treats as well.

The soon-to-be-opened Nordstrom is located at 220 Broadway in Santa Monica, Calif.

Advance Notice. Santa Monica Place.

The new Santa Monica Place will be opening this Saturday, with all new shops and restaurants for Southern California.

As if there isn't enough reason to go to Santa Monica with the pier, which has free events all summer, and the 3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica Place will have a celebration starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Among the new stores in the complex are a Nordstrom, Tiffany & Co., True Religion Brand Jeans, 7 For All Mankind, and Louis Vuitton, and a rooftop dining area.

The new Santa Monica Place is at 739 Santa Monica Place.
