Advance Notice. Local Natives at the Fonda.

I know I've already raved about Local Natives enough, so I'll try not to repeat myself, but really--it's time to jump on the bandwagon. The local band put on a breathtakingly energetic and passionate earlier this month at the Troubadour, living up to the hype and expectations better than anyone could have imagined. The harmonies soared, the drums rumbled in everyone's hearts, and you could just see in their eyes how in awe they were of the audience as the audience was with them. I don't know if they'll still be setting up their own instruments during soundcheck come September, but it's sure to be an amazing show nonetheless. Don't miss out this time--trust me, you'll regret it.

Local Natives will be playing the Music Box at the Fonda on Sept. 17. Tickets go on sale today at 10am, and it will sell out quickly.

Advance Notice. LCD Soundsystem and the xx.

The post-Coachella L.A. dates for bands are starting to roll in. To start us off with a bang, there's new dates from LCD Soundsystem (see: amazing video above) and the xx.

Electro-pop minimalists the xx are bringing their gloomy-with-an-ounce-of-optimism sound to two different venues this June: they're set to play the Henry Fonda Music Box on Sat., June 5th ($22.50), and the much-larger Wiltern on Sun., June 6th ($25). Expect the young threesome to have really mastered their instruments and live skills by now; and a short set considering their debut album clocks in at less than 40 minutes (they're known to do a few covers, though). Tickets for both shows are set to go on sale TODAY at 10 a.m.

On the near-opposite side of the spectrum, party starters LCD Soundsystem to the Hollywood Palladium on Fri., June 4th ($30) and to the Fox Theater in Pomona on Sat., June 5th ($25). The mid-sized venues are perfect to get your dance on, and for whatever shenanigans James Murphy and Co. are sure to bring; everyone's been raving about "Yeah"'s epic set-ending performance this past Saturday. Both concerts go on sale officially on Friday at 10 a.m. but there's also a Goldenvoice presale for the Fox date happening TODAY at 10 a.m., and a Live Nation presale for the Palladium on tomorrow at 10 a.m.

Both shows are sure to sell out--as the just-announced Local Natives show at the Troubadour on June 4th did after one day--and with them all coincidentally occurring on the same weekend (and going on sale at the same time!), you'll have to play your cards right. Either way, though, you can't really go wrong. Summer can't come quickly enough.

Advance Notice. Broken Social Scene.

On a coincidentally related Metric note, Emily Haines and Jimmy Shaw's other band, the Canadian all-stars group Broken Social Scene, has just announced the upcoming release of a long-awaited new album.

As of right now, the album has a release date of May 4th, but no title, according to leader Kevin Drew's interview with Pitchfork. Drew also notes that Haines and Shaw, along with other well-known members of BSS like Feist, Amy Milian (from Stars), Brendan Canning and Jason Collett, are set to make appearances. Former Death From Above 1979 drummer Sebastian Grainger and The Weakerthans' Jason Tait are some of the newcomers adding to the long list of rockstar BSS contributors.

And with a new album comes, yes!: new tour dates. The group, in whatever unpredictable line-up, will be coming to the Fonda on May 3rd, the day before the new album comes out, and you can get your pre-sale (note: no ridiculous Ticketmaster fees!) tickets right now. And with this ever-rotating cast of members known for their choatic recording sessions and live shows, there's no telling who will show up, what songs will be played or practically anything that could happen in this show..but that's the magic of it all, right? Don't miss out.

Do It. Radiohead for Haiti.

So it'll only be Thom Yorke out the Radiohead crew who'll be heading to Coachella this year, but guess what, BEATs? RADIOHEAD IS COMING TO L.A. THIS SUNDAY. And playing the (decently small) Music Box @ the Fonda.

The catch? The tickets are only up for auction, and they're pretty high. The reason to bid anyway? All proceeds go to the Oxfam Haiti relief fund.
