Click It. BEAT picks of the week.

If you haven't had a chance to get your eyebrows in their best shape for 2012 yet, make an appointment for a brow wax at Anastasia Beverly Hills. They keep your brows as full as possible, while making them a flattering shape that really makes your entire face look better.

Kim Kardashian, an Anastasia devotee, is Allure magazine's March cover girl, and she shares a few other favorite beauty buys: Nars Duo Eyeshadow in Surabaya, Neutrogena Makeup Remove Night Calming Wipes, and MAC Zoom Lash, among others.

At the ArcLight Hollywood tonight, there will be a Q&A with Pina 3D director Wim Wenders after the 7:35 p.m. screening.

The Gap is having a great President's Day weekend sale, with 40% off select styles!

After signing up months ago, then taking a long pause, this week I have been loving Pinterest.

Do It. Sephora opening at Americana at Brand.

Tomorrow morning a new Sephora is opening at Americana at Brand (the Grove's Glendale counterpart).

Josie Maran will be there for the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:00 a.m., and festivities to follow.

Sounds like a good time to get a Nars set, or some new Rosebud Perfume Co. lip balm for the winter months.

Americana at Brand is located at 889 Americana Way in Glendale.

Check It. NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette.

Makeup palettes are fun and convenient - especially when all the colors in one are appealing.

L.A.-based NYX Cosmetics has four new eyeshadow palettes in their Runway Collection - and Casting Call is just great for the holidays. Shimmery neutrals are my favorite kind of eyeshadow. These ones have an easy-to-apply powdery texture and look very pretty on the skin.

After watching Gwyneth Paltrow's performance of "Country Strong" at the CMA's a couple weeks ago, I remembered how good a gray eyeshadow with some sparkle can look.

The NYX shadow palettes are sleek and black and slim enough to fit in an evening clutch--great news as holiday party invites start rolling in.

$9.75 - available through nyxcosmetics.com, Urban Outfitters, and Ulta Beauty.

Check It. Laura Mercier Lip Glace.

I haven't been buying a ton of lip products lately, because I think I already have more than I could get through in a lifetime! I did however sign up for Birchbox, a monthly service that sends large samples of new products in a nice little giftbox through the mail. It's $10, and in the October (my first) a small Laura Mercier "Lip Glace" lip gloss arrived. It's my new favorite!

Long ago I had a Laura Mercier lipstick that had a bad taste, and I've pretty much avoided the line since (except for their great crème brûlée bath and body line). Something's changed since then, because this stuff tastes like cake batter! It's great. The color (Opal) is a modest pale shimmery pink (much less orangey than the photo above) and seems like it would be universally flattering. The gloss comes in 24 colors--including Bare Beige, Pink Tulle, and Brownberry--if Opal isn't for you.

Laura Mercier is available at Nordstrom and Sephora. A 0.12-ounce tube of Lip Glace is $22.

Do It. Autumn at Scent Bar.

I'll be out of town this weekend celebrating the birthday of one of my very best friends, who now lives in San Diego. If I were going to be in Los Angeles, this perfume party would be a tempting event to attend.

Serge Lutens (who is maybe best known for his art direction/product and image development work with Shiseido during the 1980's) makes a great soft-scented perfume called Louve, among many others. I'm curious to see what's new from his classic and not-too-overpowering line.

Scent Bar is Lucky Scent's brick-and-mortar shop. I've been able to find seemingly impossible to find favorite perfumes on luckyscent.com, but have actually never stepped foot in Scent Bar--yet.

Saturday October 16 at 1:00 p.m. Scent Bar is located at 8327 Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles. Info: (323) 782-8300

Check It. MAC Venomous Villains Makeup Collection.

Today the MAC Cosmetics Venomous Villains collection is in stores. I first saw word of it in a magazine about a month ago, and have been looking forward to it ever since. Last week I happened upon a party at the MAC store at the Hollywood & Highland Center celebrating this collection, and it just added to the excitement of the line's release.

MAC is known for being great stage makeup--it doesn't budge under hot lights, which means it's very effective for just regular daily life. Their concealer is a staple in my makeup bag, and the cream blushes are lovely too.

This partnership with Disney looks like a lot of fun--as so much of the fun of makeup is in the packaging. While I'm sure some fanatics will collect much of the collection, I'm planning on picking up a lipstick or lipgloss to dip my little finger in the celebration of Disney gone glam.
