Check It. 'Sterling's Gold.'

It's been about a month since Mad Men's shocking season finale, which means..you're probably going through Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce withdrawals right now. But not to fear -- as always, Roger Sterling has got your back.

As you might have recalled this season, Sterling had been in the process of writing his autobiography. It was an amusing mini-storyline for the simple fact that any such autobiography has to be amazing. And now -- strangely, wonderfully -- it's real.

Sterling's Gold isn't particularly an autobiography like it was in the show (no juicy Ms. Blankenship stories), but more a collection of Sterling's infamous advice and snarky comments. He says it himself in the introduction: "Here it is... a few things overheard, a few things to live by, and hell, a few things I've apparently said and had repeated to me the morning after a party when I called to make amends."

Definitely would make for a great gift for any Mad Men fan, or just to hold you over until next season.

And while you're at it, you can take this fun 'job interview' and see where you might fit in at SCDP.

Check It. Sad Don Draper [The Monday Download].

Last week's Mad Men episode was by far one of my favorites from the entire series -- it epitomized everything that truly is so great about the show, even down to the fact that I can't even describe why I like it so much. It's just a good show, you know?

But if there is anything I can actually pinpoint as a great asset of the episode, it was the amazing acting by Jon Hamm and Elizabeth Moss, as Don and Peggy, respectively. Not to spoil anything, but Don breaking down with Peggy was such an earmark moment, and one that should not be easily forgotten.

It was a somber moment, but not one that can't be taken lightly, either. Enter tumblr. The image-blogging site has produced many a viral joke in recent times, and Don Draper is its latest victim. "Sad Don Draper" popped up impressively soon after the episode, but it grew quickly and has made for some classic gems. My favorites are towards the beginning, so keep going back and enjoy the Monday distraction.

Check It. Behind the scenes of 'Mad Men' style.

OK, so we (or I) have been pretty "Mad Men" crazed after their Season 4 premier last Sunday. First we did the pick up lines, then the Banana Republic line and contest, and now this.

Janie Bryant, the costume designer for "Mad Men," takes viewers behind the scenes and explains wardrobe choices behind the show. Why are Don's suits darker this season? What are some of the defining characteristics behind Peggy's clothes? Do they wear period skivvies? (This answer is yes, with a peak at one of Joan's undergarments).

Enjoy!

Do It. 'Mad' style.

So Chau already told us about the very excellent Mad Men pick up lines, but there's also a new retro line of clothes coming out that are inspired by the 1960s show. I love the classic outfits on the show (who doesn't?) and now Banana Republic is partnering with AMC to bring these old school styles to the masses.

Vintage clothes aren't too hard to come by in Los Angeles. We've got the Melrose Trading Post, 4th Street in Long Beach, and dozens of other regular flea markets around the city, but the likelihood that classic styles survived 50 years of storage with all their buttons, zippers, and material intact and unstained is pretty rare.

And the new Banana Republic line blends these classic fashions with current trends so they don't look too anachronistic. Plenty of reason to mark your calendar for the new line coming out in September.

Also, for those who love all things vintage a casting call is starting this Wednesday going through Aug. 11 for those with "Mad" style. Submit a photo of yourself in your best retro to madmencastingcall.amctv.com and you're eligible to win a spot on the show or up to $1,000 at Banana Republic.

Check It. Mad Men pick up lines [The Monday Download].

The amazing Mad Men is set to return this Sunday, and it's kind of sad to think that we've gone without Don Draper and Peggy Olsen and Roger Sterling (swoon!) for so long. But it's time to refresh your memory and get back into that slick Madison Ave. world, which obviously leads to...pick-up lines!

This impressively long montage of Mad Men's most naughty moments (both intentional and unintentional) offers a great reminder of how far Peggy has grown and how hilarious the Sterling Cooper crew can be. I love seeing how things have changed so quickly over just three seasons. Raise those martinis (dry, of course), and get ready for another season!

Mad Men's season 4 premieres on Sunday at 10pm on AMC.

Advance Notice. Mad Men Season 4.

Well, summer is certainly not all about reruns. True Blood this week, and Season 4 of Mad Men coming to AMC on Sunday July 25 at 10:00 p.m. If you've been missing Don and Betty, Joan, Roger, or even Peggy Olson and Pete Campbell, there's not too much longer to wait.

In the meantime you can collect some cool vintage clothes and/or accessories and get your home bar ready to concoct some Manhattans. Or if you, like me, haven't entirely kept up with Seasons 2 and 3, you can catch up on DVD before Season 4 airs.

Advance Notice. Men Men style talk at LACMA.

Love the costumes in Mad Men? Who doesn't, really? There's an awesome sounding book coming out this fall by the show's costume designer Janie Bryant, and Monica Corcoran Harel (who, when at the Los Angeles Times, wrote the best All the Rage blog posts for the Image section).

While you'll have to wait till November for The Fashion File: Advice, Tips, and Inspiration from the Costume Designer of Mad Men, you can hear Bryant and Corcoran Harel discuss it at LACMA this Wednesday night.

They'll talk about the process behind the clothes worn on the hit show, and how it has influenced fashion today. A fashion show and reception to follow discussion.

Wednesday, June 9 at 7:30 p.m. LACMA is located at 5905 Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles. Tickets are $60 and available online.

Check It. Bettie Page Clothing Hollywood.

As dirty as parts of Hollywood Blvd. are, there are some treasures along it--Musso & Frank's, the Egyptian Theatre ... and Bettie Page Clothing, which opened last summer.

When I read this Los Angeles Times Image blog by Monica Corcoran (who is now writing a "Mad Men" fashion book with the show's costume designer, Janie Bryant) in December 2008, an appreciation of the late bombshell's style, I knew I had to visit the store (then, only in Las Vegas, where I just happened to be going later that month.) It was very cool, but at the time I wasn't in the market for a new dress.

With Valentine's Day approaching, I thought I'd point out this potentially hidden treasure to anyone searching for a girly getup. They also carry a variety of accessories, including Tres Noir sunglasses, which come in several pretty shades of red. Holly Madison and Leighton Meester are fans.

Bettie Page Clothing is located at 6650 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood.
