Long Beach's roller derby leagues the Bixby Rollerettes are going head-to-head with The Terminal Island Tootsies next Friday at the Long Beach's Queen Mary Dome, and these women losing it on the rink is sure to be a sight. The popularity of roller derby in the past few years has mushroomed with tons of women joining leagues across the country. Even a major motion picture has recently been made about the booming sport, (Whip It! with Drew Barrymore and Juno's Ellen Page -- trailer below).
The event also includes a live band. Presale tickets are $16; $20 at the door.
The Queen Mary Dome is located at 1126 Queens Highway. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Friday June 25.
