Los Angeles Times television critic Mary McNamara (and author of Oscar Season) will be at Book Soup tonight at 7:00 p.m., presenting and signing her new book, The Starlet.The 320 page paperback sounds like a fun book to bring to the beach, if you like reading about the drama of young Hollywood. The longtime Times staffer is a talented writer who's sure to bring a level of quality to the subject matter of affairs on set, murder, and drug addiction. There's some Oscar winning in there too, for good measure. Publishers Weekly called it a "seriocomic romp".
