Do It. The Three Amigos at Umami and Wavves at Origami.

Happy Cinco de Mayo, BEATs! Leslie got your mornings started off right with that round-up of drink specials and options today, but not all of us are able to or want to partake in tequila immersions (and subsequent hangovers) tonight. But you still want in on the festivities? Here are two sober-friendly options:

- Umami Burgers Presents: Dinner and a Movie. This new film series happening over at the Umami Hollywood throughout the month of May takes advantage of the neighboring Space 15 Twenty courtyard to bring you a hip twist on the dinner and movie idea. Here, you get an absolutely delectable Umami burger while sitting outside for a movie shown on a projector, drive-thru-style. And tonight's edition? The Three Amigos, of course. It's free besides the cost of the food, and if you're not staying completely sober, I'd highly recommend the Hitachino Nest espresso stout as a dessert drink (which should be pre- or proceeded by any of the ice creams from Milk that they have available, naturally).
8pm, located at Space 15 Twenty, 1520 N. Cahuenga Blvd. in Hollywood.

- Wavves at Origami Vinyl. Okay, this isn't really Cinco de Mayo-related, but it's sure to be great fun. Plus Wavves frontman Nathan Williams is known for having a clever sense of humor, so you might catch some holiday-related tunes. Either way, this is a just-announced show sure to fill up, so get there early. And don't forget your plaid--there's something about Wavves' scuzzy rock live that'll make you believe in grunge again.
7:30pm, located at Origami Vinyl, 1816 W. Sunset Blvd. in Echo Park.

For even more Cinco de Mayo options, follow us @beatofyoungla! Stay safe out there!
